catalog record

Dobbs Ferry, in Westchester County, is a post village on the Hudson River. It is named for early settlers who maintained a ferry across the Hudson. It was an important Revolutionary War locale, the site of Livingston Landing (on the adjacent map) and Manor, where General Washington planned the Yorktown, Va., campaign, which ended the American Revolution.
