[Die Beschreibung] Des königlichen Einzugs, welchen Ihro Königliche Majestät … Maria Theresia, zu Hungarn und Böheim Königin … in dero königliche drey Prager-Städte gehalten [The Description of the Royal Arrival of Her Royal Majesty … Maria Theresa, Queen of Hungary and Bohemia … in the Three Royal Towns of Prague]
Prague: Carl Franz Rosenmüller, [1743]
NYPL, Spencer Collection

This panoramic engraving of Old Town Square in Prague depicts the procession at Maria Theresa's coronation as Queen of Bohemia, and shows the pomp and circumstance at the royal courts of Europe. By holding the coronation ceremony in Prague, the court sought to provide both a sense of unity as well as a recognition of cultural and ethnic sensibilities in the principally non-Germanic portions of the empire.
