Sala Rabinowicz
Postcard to Sala Garncarz, in German, Sosnowitz, Poland, August 28, 1942
NYPL, Dorot Jewish Division, Sala Garncarz Collection

Dear Sala!!

After a long silence, I’m writing you a little postcard. It is not, dear Sala, as if I had forgotten about you. But you know how things are. I hardly meet with the girls these days.

This isn’t the time for apologies: that we can leave for the end. I read the last postcard you sent home. Your sisters aren’t home. They are together with Frymka, and Gucia Gutman, and they all went to Neusalz. Your sister Laja Dina is home with her husband David and all the children.

Dear Sala, please don’t cry! Don’t cry! I do understand that it will relieve your feelings. Crying won’t help you.

                                                       Regards, Sala
