In Letters to Sala: A Young Woman’s Life in Nazi Labor Camps, Sala’s daughter, Ann Kirschner, draws upon the letters and other materials in the exhibition to movingly tell her mother’s story. An essay by historians Debórah Dwork and Robert Jan van Pelt provides background on the Nazi labor camp system. Illustrations include letters, photographs, and other documents from theSala Garncarz Kischner Collection of the Library’s Dorot Jewish Division.
