This postcard from Sala’s sister was rubber-stamped by the Jewish Council of Elders, presumably for delivery through the community mailbag. However, it was further processed and ultimately delivered by the Deutsche Reichspost. As this postcard shows, stamps with Hitler’s portrait had by this time supplanted those depicting Hindenburg.
