Raizel and Blima Garncarz
Postcard to Sala Garncarz, in German, Neusalz (Oder), Germany, May 10, 1943
NYPL, Dorot Jewish Division, Sala Garncarz Kischner Collection

Writing from the labor camp at Neusalz, Blima laments that “everyone is dispersed over all the world” and recalls the sweetness of Seder with their parents. She and Raizel have “clean and light work [with cotton] from 6 to 5 in the evening with one hour lunch in between.” They refer to mail and even to two food packages that have arrived from their sister Laja Dina, still in Sosnowitz.
