A New York Public Library for the Performing Arts exhibition in the Edna Barnes Salomon Room (third floor), Humanities and Social Sciences Library, Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street
April 6-July 7, 2001
Featuring materials drawn from the research divisions of The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Touring West focuses on the professional performances that toured the United States from the time of the Louisiana Purchase in 1803 through the end of the 19th century.

Admission is free.


Exhibition Hours

Monday, Thursday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Tuesday-Wednesday, 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Closed Sundays.

Exhibition Tours

Public tours of Heading West are conducted every day at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. free of charge. Groups of ten or more people must make reserved group tour arrangements at least four weeks in advance; call 212.930.0501. Group tour fees are $7 per person for adults; there is no charge for full-time students.
