The French dancer Mme. Celine Celeste performed on the Mississippi and Missouri circuits in ballet and pantomime roles in the 1830s, and toured extensively in John Baldwin Buckstone's The Green Bushes (1851). She later became the actress-manager at London's Adelphi Theatre.
