Lewis Hallam's troupe performed Othello and The Merchant of Venice in Virginia in 1752. His son, Lewis Hallam, the younger, formed the Hallam Company, which toured from Philadelphia to Baltimore and New York. This handbill announces a performance of Romeo and Juliet in Philadelphia on April 7, 1767 with ticket prices given in British currency.
