ABOUT THE LIBRARY SHOP

The Art of Cartography, a 1999 wall calendar featuring maps from The New York Public Library, includes several examples from the Lawrence H. Slaughter Collection. The calendar is available in The Library Shop for $12.95 (Friends of the Library receive a 10 percent discount). The Shop also offers a selection (indicated by asterisks) from among the books listed under "Suggested Reading" below.

The Library Shop at the Humanities and Social Sciences Library (Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street) is open Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. The Library Shop in the Mid-Manhattan Library (Fifth Avenue and 40th Street) is open Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Sunday, noon-5 p.m. The Library Shop accepts mail orders; call for information: 212.930.0641.
