Not the Apollo Belvedere.
This portrait of Dickens was engraved by Edward Stodart after the somber portrait photograph by John and Charles Watkins dating from 1861. In a biography of Dickens published shortly after his death in 1870, G.B. Sala wrote: "The photographic portraits of Charles Dickens form a legion; and the more recent ones give a life-like resemblance of him as he seemed to the present generation--a bronzed, weatherworn, hardy man, with somewhat of a seaman's air about him."
