"More seditious" than Das Kapital.
This is the wrapper of the final installment of Little Dorrit, a double number published by Bradbury and Evans in June 1857. The novel reflects both the restlessness of the times in which it was written--the Crimean War was just ending as Little Dorrit No. 5 appeared--and the half-mad restlessness of its author, who described himself in this period as "a Monster to my family, a dread phenomenon to myself."
